Q1 How do I reset my progress?

Go to Settings (from the Operator Hub home screen) and tap Reset Progress at the bottom of the list. A confirmation prompt will appear before anything is erased.

Resetting clears all contract grades, run history, Codex unlocks, and restores the app to first-launch state with only Contract 1 available. This action cannot be undone.

Q2 What do the four frequency bands mean?

OrbiWeave uses four radio frequency bands. Two properties define each band's trade-off:

L — lowest throughput (6 Mbps), longest range (1.35x), most resistant to noise.
S — moderate throughput (9 Mbps), standard range (1.10x).
X — high throughput (13 Mbps), reduced range (0.90x), noise-sensitive.
K — maximum throughput (18 Mbps), shortest range (0.72x), breaks fastest under interference.

Nodes can only link to each other when they are on the same band. Switching a relay's band disconnects all its links that no longer match, so plan retunes carefully.

Q3 What is the retune budget and how does it work?

Every contract gives you a fixed number of retune operations. Each of the following actions costs 1 retune point:

· Changing a relay node's frequency band
· Changing a relay node's gain level (1–5)
· Creating a new link between two nodes
· Deleting an existing link

When the budget reaches zero, no further changes can be made for the rest of the mission — the network is frozen in its current state until the contract ends. There is also a 1.2-second cooldown between retuning the same node twice.

The remaining budget is shown in the HUD at the top of the grid screen. Plan your adjustments carefully — especially before and during disruption events.

Q4 Why does my signal keep dropping even with a valid path?

A working link is not the same as a clean link. Several sources add noise that degrades throughput:

· Co-channel interference — two nodes on the same band within proximity jam each other. The more gain each has, and the closer they are, the worse the interference.
· Crossing links — if two links cross on the grid and share a band, both take an additional noise penalty.
· Disruption events — a Band Storm doubles noise sensitivity for that band for 8 seconds; a Node Dropout takes a relay offline for 5 seconds and kills all its links.

Check the amber or red colouring on your links. Yellow-orange means noisy; red dashed means the link is dead. The stability ring in the HUD shows your current signal health in real time.

Q5 How are contract grades assigned?

When you clear a contract, your final stability score determines the grade (shown as three ticks on the contract card):

· 3 ticks — final stability 90 or above
· 2 ticks — final stability 70–89
· 1 tick — cleared, stability below 70

Only your best grade is saved per contract. You can replay any cleared contract from the Contracts screen to improve your grade. Failing a contract (stability below the fail threshold for 4 seconds, or timer expiring before goal packets are delivered) does not count as a clear.
